Angkor Wat-One of the wonders of the world
The sheer scale of Angkor Wat(12th century) is huge and rates with the greatest wonders of the world--the pyramids of Egypt, Machu Picchu in Peru, and the Taj Mahal of India. I learned a great deal about the Kymer Empire and the Hindu/Buddhist culture that create the meanings behind the wonder of the monument.
